The Government have published the Employment Rights Bill Implementation Roadmap, setting out an Employment Legislation Timeline for measures in the Bill coming into effect. This road map sets out how it will deliver its new package of workers’ rights through the plan to Make Work Pay.
The road map follows a structured timeline so that stakeholders have time to prepare of the employment legislation updates.
We were told of the governments plans as part of Labour’s manifesto, but as yet had not seen any further updates to when the legislation will change. Now we have this timeline, employers can start to review their policies and procedures to ensure they remain compliant.
There is plenty to be looking at, and SliceHR’s advice is start working like it now, particularly when it comes to the changes to zero hour contracts and introduction of the right to claim unfair dismissal from day one.
