Lisa is an Army Bratt so it’s always a difficult one when people ask her where she is from! After bouncing around several courses at college, Leisure and Tourism Management, Hair and Beauty, Lisa fell into recruitment purely by chance. After training with the best and working for some of the country’s biggest national recruitment brands Lisa took her 1st jump into self-employment in November 2014. Fast forward to today and skipping over the birth of her child and an illness that almost made her leave the industry, Lisa is the owner of Slice, and proud of what her and the team are achieving daily.
If Lisa didn’t own Slice, she would probably own a salon or bar in Spain and spend her nights sipping cocktails in the sun.
Emily’s interest in HR started when she was scanning shopping at Morrisons! Sitting on the checkout she had the best view and soon realised that the store wouldn’t be able to operate without the staff. Jump to completing her degree in HR management at Lincoln Uni, Emily has gone on to have a varied employment history from the Police Service, Centre Parcs and several manufacturing sites. Realising that she liked the variety; consultancy work was the next natural step and joining forces with Lisa to add an HR service to the already successful Slice just made sense!
Outside of work Emily is kept busy with a young family and keen to enjoy the finer things in life with holidays, mini breaks and regular evenings out.
Ever the organiser if Emily hadn’t landed at Slice she would likely be involved in planning events. Combining her love for a party and a good tick list!
Rachel is from Sheffield but currently lives with her family in Chesterfield. After leaving University many moons ago, she didn’t really know what career path she wanted to take but eventually found that her dream job working for L’Oreal as Account Manager. After 8 happy years and having 2 beautiful girls unfortunately this job no longer gave her the flexibility of being the Mum she wanted to be. Luckily Lisa who owns Slice, a good friend was expanding and needed her 1st employee. This fitted so nicely, as within her role for L’Oreal she recruited for many counters/stores in the North. So had the experience and knowledge to offer Slice. Rachel loves the diversity and excitement the job offers and is still able to collect her children from school.
In another life or if Rachel wasn’t working for Slice she would probably be a Primary School Teacher.
Kelly started out wanting to be an Accountant, she went onto study at College and after two years, decided it was no longer the path she wished to pursue. Kelly has done a variety of different roles throughout her career including being a Waitress, Estimator and even a Designer, she has also delved into Business Development.
If Kelly wasn’t working for Slice she would probably be doing something in the Psychology Field at the same time as being a mum to her two amazing girls.
